Client Agreement
Plain-language terms that apply to every website we design, build, host and maintain. No hidden clauses — everything you need to know before we start.
These terms govern all website design, development, hosting and care services provided by Faith Web Designs ("we", "us") to the client ("you"). Approving a quote, paying a deposit, or instructing us to begin work confirms your acceptance of these terms.
Any quote we issue is valid for 30 days from the date it is sent.
The pages, features and deliverables listed in your accepted quote form the full scope of the project. Anything not listed there is considered a new request and is quoted separately before any work begins.
Additional pages, new functionality, integrations, e-commerce, or changes in direction after design approval are treated as additional work.
A 50% deposit is payable before work starts. The remaining 50% is payable before the website goes live on your domain. Website care and hosting plans are billed monthly in advance and are separate from the once-off build fee.
Prices are quoted in South African Rand for local clients and in US Dollars for international clients. Payment is by EFT or an agreed online payment method.
To keep your project on schedule you agree to supply the content and access we need in good time.
Estimated timelines start once the deposit is received and your content has been supplied. Delays in feedback or content may extend the delivery date. If a project stalls for more than 60 days without client response, it may be closed and reactivated at an additional fee.
Two rounds of revisions are included at the design stage and one round after development, unless your quote states otherwise. Further revisions, or changes requested after final approval, are billed at our standard hourly rate and quoted beforehand.
Websites we build are hosted and maintained by us on an active monthly care plan. Your plan covers hosting, SSL, backups, security updates, uptime monitoring and the content changes included in your tier. Full details are set out in our Hosting & Website Care Policy, which forms part of this agreement.
Your domain name is registered in your business name and remains your asset at all times. On full payment, you own the content, images and brand assets supplied by you as well as the final design produced for your website.
We retain ownership of our underlying code, frameworks, templates and internal tools, along with the right to display the completed website in our portfolio unless you request otherwise in writing.
When a website project is completed and handed over, the client receives access to their website project and may manage and make changes to it themselves. Where applicable, the client may create their own project account and be granted access to the project so that ownership is fully in their hands.
Handover marks the completion of the build. It does not include unlimited ongoing maintenance, free technical support, or future development work.
Once a project has been handed over, the client is responsible for managing their own website changes, edits, content updates and modifications, unless an active maintenance or support plan is in place with Faith Web Designs.
We are happy to assist outside of a plan on request; that work is quoted and billed separately at our standard rates.
Clients who prefer Faith Web Designs to continue managing their website can purchase a maintenance plan. Depending on the plan selected, our maintenance service can include:
Some features rely on third-party services such as domain registrars, hosting platforms, payment gateways, email providers or fonts. Their fees, terms and availability are outside our control and any subscription costs are for your account.
You may cancel a care plan with 30 days' written notice. Hosting continues to the end of your last paid month, after which the website is taken offline and your domain is released to any registrar you choose at no cost.
If a project is cancelled mid-build, the deposit is non-refundable and work completed to date is invoiced. If a care plan falls more than 30 days in arrears, hosting may be suspended after written notice. Your domain is never withheld.
We take reasonable care to deliver a secure, reliable website but cannot guarantee uninterrupted uptime, specific search engine rankings, traffic volumes, or business results. Our liability in any matter is limited to the amount paid by you for the service concerned.
Any business information or account access shared with us is kept confidential and used only to deliver your project. We do not sell or share client data with third parties.
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes affecting active clients will be communicated in writing before they take effect.
This agreement is governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Faith Web Designs operates from Upington, Northern Cape, South Africa.
